Samantha (Skinner) Henline's Family

Semantha/Samantha (Skinner) Henline (1853-1930) was the daughter of original settlers Alexander and Phoebe (Conrad) Skinner. Samantha and her husband Beham lived on Oil Creek across from where the brick St Michael Roman Catholic church was built in 1917. In addition to being a farmer, Beham had a business that bought and sold goods the community produced and goods the community needed.

This photo was taken around 1925. Her husband Beham had died about 1912. Most of her kids are here.

  1. Thank you so much for this picture! Now I can see the faces of the people my Mammaw always told stories about. She was Sophia, the oldest daughter of Samantha's oldest daughter, Estella Pricilla. Mike Thomas was her stepfather. I don't know why "Estie" isn't in the picture if Mike is, could she have been cut off on the other side?

  2. I have a photo somewhere that I would like to contribute. It's of Estie and Mike with Kids and some other family members at the house in Copen, Wv. I have a nice image on my other computer I'll try to dig up later. The souse was from Ruby(Jarvis)Brooks who is Esties granddaugher. I think the photo may have come from Arden or Tom Thomas originally. She also has a photo of Samantha Skinner.

I would love to get bigger better quality images!
