"This is my grandmother Mrs. Irma Haymond Cox, my mother, Betty Dickson Cox and her friend, Marie Ball, daughter of Ed and Hazel Ball of Burnsville. These photos were taken at the Orlando station around 1922. My grandmother would take an train excursion to Orlando from Burnsville [four miles], get off the train in Orlando, have lunch, and then take the next train back to Burnsville. I think it was probably a way to give small kids a thrill of a train ride. "
