The Braxton Orlando School in 1928

David Parmer credits this 1928 photo of the Braxton County Orlando school to Nellie Godfrey Hopkins (#23 in the picture). Nellie’s gone, and David got the photo elsewhere, but he says, "I recognize Nellie’s writing and she was in the photo herself. Also, she couldn’t spell very well which I also recognize as one of Nellie’s earmarks, (I cleaned that up.) So, I think we can safely give credit to Nellie (Godfrey) Hopkins."

17. Kathryn Corder. Daughter of Mary Knight and step-daughter of Charlie Knight. She married a man named Dague and lived in Akron, Ohio.
18. James Henline. Son of Pid Henline and Nora Clark. She died in 1974.
19. William Moran. Son of Wick and Mary Knight Moran. He died of appendicitis at age thirteen. He had one of most attended funerals in Orlando history.

24. Ruth Morrison. Daughter of Lee and Ora (Scarff) Morrison. She married Edward Godfrey (#34). She lived in Parkersburg. Her dad was Lee Morrison: Photographer Extraordinaire.
25. Edna Blake. Daughter of Marion and Ethel (Skinner) Blake. She married Johnnie Ware. She died in 1994 in Weston.
26. Dorothy Corder. Daughter of Mary Knight and step-daughter of Charlie Knight. She married Blaine Gay. She died at 74 in Warren, Ohio.
27. Woodrow Wooddell. Son of John and Daisy (Bennett) Wooddell. He lived in Clarksburg in 1960.
